| The Queen Charlotte Islands, known locally as Haida Gwaii, the native name for the islands, are also called "The Misty Isles" by those who love them and return year after year to enjoy the peace, the sun, and the clear blue sky of unspoiled air that smells at different times of the salty waters of the strait which separates us from the mainland, and of the spruce forests which cover most of the islands. Here, the North Pacific Ocean changes our weather sometimes several times in a single day and reminds us of our connection to the remote north. |
